A video highlighting the BAR’s role, in helping those moving to a new property receive a professional, individual service.
Moving home is a time when care matters in so many ways, the reason BAR are leading members of The Home Buying and Selling Group (HSBG).
The HSBG includes bodies which represent building societies, solicitors, conveyancing specialists, estate agents, home builders and more. Trading Standards and The Property Ombudsman are there to add a consumer based view.
Everyone involved believes that by working together, they can improve the home buying process. Creating a smooth transition for seller, buyer and those supporting them, along with reducing the level of sales which fall through.
Within their own specialty of removals, the BAR set the standard for our sector, along with offering guidance to people who are moving.
Removals Advice
The BAR provide valuable removals advice, through their “Avoid the Headache” guide for householders. If you are moving home, you can download this from the BAR website and read through a range of ideas.
They include how you can have access to your new home by 1pm on moving day, detailing the tasks which make this happen. Knowing what your legal representatives should be doing is an asset, as is understanding how you can help yourself.
Other sections of the guide offer practical advice on planning a move and a detailed check list, to prevent any aspect being forgotten.
Ensuring Good Service
The core role of BAR is to ensure that people moving receive the best possible support, an undertaking they take seriously. Their on site inspections and advisory visits are carried out to an exceptional standard.
Intervention goes beyond simply imposing adherence. The advice they offer to removals companies is useful and based on experience, part of creating an ethos of continuous improvement within the removals sector.
This includes encouraging removals companies to offer advice alongside their own. You are welcome to see our removals advice, from weeks before a move, to a packing guide and the best approach to the day itself.
Farrer & Fenwick have been BAR members for many years and enjoy the ethos they set. Apart from helping those who are moving, this has helped us to build a reputation and see customers return over the years, because their move was based on service.
