With the town just a few miles from our main base, Weybridge removals are a core part of our work. Always a pleasure and a source of varying tasks, from large, detached homes, to well cared for, smaller dwellings.
Weybridge is a cosmopolitan, friendly place, which few would describe as snobbish, even though the location features on lists of expensive towns in the UK.
Surprisingly, other local places where like for like property is a little less expensive appear higher on those lists, because of the greater diversity of property in Weybridge. Neither is this just a case of more flats rising up.
The Victorian and Edwardian semi-detached houses you see below fill many roads close to the town centre, along with terraces of a similar period. Some larger houses from that time have been converted but a significant majority remain as family homes.
The town stretches back further in history and along with a few earlier structures, there is still a good supply of Georgian buildings. Part of the commercial infrastructure, or remaining in use as elegant homes.
Waterways have long been part of life in Weybridge, from neolithic occupation along the Thames, to the River Wey and man made additions. The carefully managed river and canal system was a vital lifeline in earlier days and now a good site for a home.
Land close to the waterways has proven to be popular, although this has not brought a mass invasion. Development has left ample land for leisurely walks, along with older riverside buildings being converted, such as a former mill close to the town.
The homes you see are just a sample, there are roads filled with good sized detached houses, recently built flats designed to fit with them, a decent supply of sheltered housing. A spread which gives the town a balanced character.
Looking Forward
The population of Weybridge has risen in recent decades, now around 15,000. That the town centre is busier is inevitable but the essential spirit has not changed, a place where people of all ages are happy to live.
With continuing demand, land will be reused, more properties built, although they are likely to remain in keeping with the feel of Weybridge. The town is well represented by local groups and within local government.
If you are moving to Weybridge, we hope this snapshot gave you a feel for the town. From our perspective, whether helping you to move there, or providing removals in Weybridge, we will continue to enjoy serving the town.
